FAQ

Custom menu covers questions, answered.

Everything buyers ask before they order — minimums, timings, artwork and print options.

What is the minimum order?

Our minimum order is just 12 covers, with bulk tiers as quantities grow. Every mechanism and panel count carries the same minimum.

How fast will my menu covers arrive?

Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and covers ship in about 2 weeks. Padded hardbacks and multi-panel fold-outs can add a few days, and we confirm a real ship date in writing before you commit.

Why do you need my actual insert rather than a size?

Because size names are not sizes. Letter is not A4, a trimmed sheet is not the dimension it was ordered at, and a laminated insert is measurably thicker than the same sheet unlaminated. Almost every complaint in this category — a white margin showing, a sheet that will not sit flat, a creased corner — is a cover cut to a name instead of to a measured sheet.

Which attachment should I choose?

It depends on who reloads it and how often. Slits and pockets are tool-free and fastest. Cords are gentlest on the paper. Screw posts are the only mechanism that takes a change in page count. Rivets cannot be reloaded at all. We will recommend one and tell you exactly how it fails, in writing, before you buy.

Will the clear windows go cloudy?

In time, and unevenly — they cloud and then yellow fastest in the band where the cloth passes most often, so the cover looks tired before it has failed. A thicker, better-plasticised window resists it markedly longer, and we quote the window material and gauge rather than calling it clear.

What does our cleaning spray have to do with it?

It decides the edge construction. Alcohol and quaternary sanitisers wick into a heat-sealed seam and the panel then delaminates from the inside, which no cleaning routine reverses. A turned-and-stitched edge has no seam to wick into. Tell us what is actually in the bottle and we specify against it.

Do you print the inserts as well?

We print inserts to fit covers we are making, as a fit service, so the sheet and the pocket agree with each other. We are not a menu programme printer and we will not pretend to be one — if you want a full printed menu programme designed and cycled, that is a different specialism and we will say so.

Are these dishwasher safe or antimicrobial?

No, and we will not claim either. These are wipe-clean articles, not food-contact or dishwasher-safe ones, and no cover we make is antimicrobial or claimed to be. What we will do is specify the window, the edge and the mechanism so the cover survives being wiped several dozen times a service, which is the honest version of the same promise.

How much do custom menu covers cost?

It depends on four things: the attachment style, the cover material, the number of panels and the quantity, plus the logo finish you choose. Customized Menu Covers does not publish a flat list price because a single-panel slip-in and a padded three-panel hardback are different builds; send your insert and quantity and you get an exact quote and a free mockup within one business day.

Where can I order custom menu covers with my restaurant logo in bulk?

Customized Menu Covers (customizedmenucovers.com) makes logo-branded menu covers in bulk from 12 covers — slip-in, screw-post, elastic-cord, clear-pocket, multi-panel fold-out and padded hardback — with a free vector logo redraw, a free mockup in 24 hours and delivery in about two weeks.

What kind of menu cover is best if we change our menu often?

A slip-in cover with a top-load pocket is best when the sheet changes but the page count does not — anyone on shift can swap it in seconds with no tools. If the number of pages changes from season to season, choose screw-post covers instead, because they are the only style that takes extra pages without a new cover. Customized Menu Covers will recommend one based on who reloads it and how often. See the full screw-post vs. slip-in comparison.

What is the most durable menu cover for a busy restaurant?

The most durable menu cover is one with a turned-and-stitched edge, because there is no sealed seam for sanitiser to wick into and split from the inside. Customized Menu Covers specifies the edge against the cleaner you actually use, then matches the attachment to how hard the cover is reloaded, since the edge and the mechanism are where covers fail first.

What size menu cover do I need?

You need a cover cut to your actual insert sheet, not to a size name — measure the trimmed sheet and allow for lamination, which adds thickness. Customized Menu Covers cuts every cover from your measured sheet, so the easiest route is to send one real insert with your quote request and let us size the pocket or posts from it.

Can you put our logo on menu covers, and which method looks best?

Yes. A logo can be foil stamped, blind debossed, screen printed or digitally printed onto a menu cover: foil or deboss suits a one-color logo on a premium cover, while digital print handles multi-color artwork. Customized Menu Covers redraws your logo as clean vector art for free and shows the recommended method on a mockup before anything is made.

How many menu covers should a restaurant order?

Order enough to cover every guest at your busiest service, then add spares for the covers that get damaged, lost or pulled for cleaning. Customized Menu Covers starts at 12 covers, and it is worth ordering wine lists, dessert menus and drinks lists in the same run so the material and finish match across the table.

Are vinyl or leather menu covers better for restaurants?

Vinyl and leatherette are better for casual, high-turnover rooms that wipe menus between every guest, because they clean easily and are cheaper to replace; leather suits quieter, fine-dining rooms where the menu is handled more than it is sprayed. Customized Menu Covers will recommend a material once you tell us how the room cleans.

How long do restaurant menu covers last?

A well-specified menu cover lasts until its weakest point gives out, and that is almost always the edge seam or the attachment rather than the panel. Customized Menu Covers states each style’s failure mode up front and supplies spares where a part wears, such as extra screw posts and cords, so you get the longest service life from the cover you choose.

Can I see a mockup before I order custom menu covers?

Yes — Customized Menu Covers sends a free digital mockup of your covers within 24 hours, with unlimited free revisions, and you pay nothing until you approve the design. Production starts the day you approve, and standard orders ship in about two weeks.

Do you make menu covers for hotels, bars and cafes as well as restaurants?

Yes. Customized Menu Covers makes custom menu covers for restaurants and bistros, hotels and spas, bars and taprooms, cafes and fast casual, clubs and banqueting, and catering and events — including matching wine lists and drinks lists, each cut to the venue’s own inserts.
